I have used it mostly with my heart rate monitor and foot pod which are all Garmin brand. I downloaded the Garmin fit app and like the fact that when out doors it uses my Iphone's gps. I also like the fact that I no longer have a separate upload step...all the data are stored on my phone and online...like I did with my Garmin 405. I haven't tried it with my bike's speed and cadence sensors yet but do not expect any problems. My only suggestion is that they include a way in the app to calibrate the foot pod. You still however need their Ant+ sensors.The Garmin S/W has a few cons that need fixing badly. Con: No stride/cadence calibration for foot pod ( Distances are way off if you run indoors w/o GPS ) Con: No calibration for tire size on cadence / Speed sensor. ( Again Distances on a trainer are way off compared to their watch w/o calibration ) Con: Auto Lap does not work correctly Pro: Auto uploads to Garmin Connect. Pro: Taking only one item with you on the road. |
