However, if you're looking to determine your heart rate from this watch ... good luck. Right out of the box, both my wife and I tried to determine our heart rates, but had no luck.Don't get me wrong, I love strapless heart rate monitors. I've had MIOs for years and they've worked great. For some reason, this Bowflex watch was just not up to the task. And to make matters worse, the Bowflex packaging included all sorts of messaging to let you know that their customer support is standing by and always available to provide support. Of course, I called several times during business hours to only get an answering machine. As for Amazon, I will give them kudos. Packaging was in great condition as was the HR monitors/ watch packaging. Once opened realized that someone had taken the time to actually set the watches time, date, etc. ( so thank you to the individual for taking the time to do that ;) ). Ease of use: going to the HR feature, timer and alarm was very easy and straight forward; had to resort to the instructions to figure out how to get to the 2nd time zone; other than that pretty straight forward in operating. Accuracy of HR: I had gotten accustomed to taking my pulse by either my radial pulse or neck. I tested both areas and then by using the HR monitor and is was spot on ;) . Must admit I was a bit skeptical about gettin a strapless HR monitor for such a low cost, and working as accurately as it does. I have experienced firsthand the inaccuracies of many straps on HR monitiors that cost a considerable amount more money and heard many stories from friends who were duped into them... My wife had a hard time to find the correct rate, but I think it may be due to the finger positions on the watch. I tried many times for the heart rate monitor, each time worked fine. I like the watch a lot. The watch functions are good, and the backlighting is a bit shorter than usual. Overall a good watch, may be a little expensive if you paid more than $40. |
