But it was advertised as a 'full size' watch - which, to me, meant that it was on the larger side of the watch spectrum. In fact, it is more of a 'standard' sized watch - kind of hard to see when you're running. Another small complaint is the brightness of the Indiglo light. Not nearly as bright as previous Timex Ironman models I've owned. Again, not a big deal - but I use that function in the morning when I'm waking up in order to see what time it is in low light settings (usually around 5 am). It's kind of hard to read the display with the Indiglo light on. Finally, maybe it's me but the time/alarm setting functions have changed a bit (for the worse in my opinion). Specifically, I used to be able to turn the alarm on and off by simply pushing a button. Now, you have to go into the settings mode and scroll through the date, year, hour, minute, seconds, etc. before you can turn on and off the alarm. That seems kind of burdensome when... The only complain I have is that it seems to be made for men with really thick wrists, or maybe mine are just under average. You see, I have to wear the watch with the pin in the second to last hole in the strap and even then it doesn't really fit. It is better when the weather is hot, otherwise it just moves towards my hand all the time.Be careful with something, the warranty is void if you don't get it stamped by the seller. I brought up this issue to Amazon.com and they contacted the company to make sure the warranty was valid only with my receipt. Recently the strap started falling apart. This watch uses a unique screw-on strap, not the more common spring loaded pin type. I found NO retailers that carried the strap for this model. I was about to give up when I sent email to Timex complaining about the lack of a replacement strap. They responded almost immediately and gave me a number at their customer service to call. Bottom line - I was able to get an original replacement strap for $8.50 total in the mail within a few days. This beats the almost-but-not-quite-the-same replacement straps I saw for my previous Ironman watches at the retail stores hands down. Correct look. Correct fit. Cheap! |
