After at least an hour of research I chose this watch and was glad I did. I read the reviews and felt confident that this was the right choice for me. I am using it for Lap Swimming 3-4 days a week and it has worked like a charm. I can now focus on my form rather than counting! The directions were a bit confusing but I was able to find a website that had better instructions for this watch. Instructions state not to press any of the buttons while it is underwater! I never do this anyway so it works great for me. If you want to push buttons under water this is not the watch for you. I typically buy a new digital watch every 9 months or so, not because the mechanism stops working, but because physically they don't hold up well and look ugly and worn after some time. I've had many different Timex Ironman resin-strap watches and recommend against them, because the resin straps stain, don't come clean, break easily, and the "metallic" finish on the face of the watch wears off easily leaving you with one really ugly-looking watch after about 6 months. I then tried a more fashionable aqua-colored resin strap Casio watch, and the same thing happened - within a short time, the resin band discolored and the whole thing looked like crap. So back to Timex, and this silicone-strap watch. I chose the black strap to avoid any issues with staining - sure, it's a little boring, but at least it's a classic look.
